São Paulo – The Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina (Fiesc) is going to promote a trade delegation to the United Arab Emirates late this month. The trip is turned to the building sector and will take place during the Big 5, a fair in the sector in Dubai, from November 25th to 28th. The delegation should leave the city of São Paulo on the 22nd and return on the 30th.
Enrolment shall be open up to Friday (8) and is available to any Brazilian company interested in participating. The Fiesc objective is to bring together a group of some 20 companies, according to the International Trade Analyst at the organisation’s International Business Centre, Nathália Maiamaral Fiumari.
According to Fiumari, the trip is turned to all companies, from those that have not yet on the international market to those that export or import raw material to and from the region.
Those participating in the delegation are not going to exhibit at the Big 5, but will visit the fair aiming at monitoring the sector tendencies and developing networking. The programme also includes technical visits to works and to the Masdar project, a sustainable city in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the Emirates.
Among the benefits of participating in the delegation, Fiumari mentions the fact that Dubai is a hub for tendencies. “In Dubai, everything is new,” he said, recalling that there you can view what is being used in civil construction in first hand. “Verifying tendencies, material used and how the sites work, as they are large and fast,” said Fiumari, regarding what may be gained from participation in the delegation.
Big 5, a fair to be visited by the delegation, is the main fair in the building sector in the Middle East and attracted 2.500 exhibitors from 53 countries last year. Visitors totalled 45,000 people. The Big 5 will have exhibition space for Brazilian companies, organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex).
Promotion of the delegation from Santa Catarina has the support of the National Confederation of Industries (CNI) and the Apex, and participation of the Arab Brazilian Chamber. Cost for participation is US$ 5,300 (plus fees) for a double apartment and US$ 5,905 for a single apartment (plus fees). This value includes the air fare, travel insurance, visa, admittance to Big 5, interpreter service, technical assistance, travel agency services, a special lunch and housing in Dubai and Abu Dhabi with breakfast included.
