São Paulo – The FIFA Club World Cup is set to begin this Wednesday (12) in the UAE, which is hosting the event for the second year straight. In 2018, besides six continental championship winners, the tournament will include host team Al Ain. The 15th edition of the FIFA Club World Cup will be played by: Al Ain, Guadalajara (Mexico), Esperance de Tunis (Tunisia), Kashima Antlers (Japan), Real Madrid (Spain), River Plate (Argentina) and Team Wellington (New Zealand).
Real Madrid are the reigning champions. This year’s host cities will be UAE capital Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. The opening match will see Al Ain play Team Wellington at 1:30 pm (GMT-3). Guadalajara will go up against Kashima at 11 am on Saturday (15), and Esperance will play the winner of the opening match at 2:30 pm.
The match for fifth place is slated for 5:30 pm on the 18th. Next up, River Plate will take on the winner of Kashima vs Guadalajara. All of the above matches will take place at the Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain.
From the 19th on, the games will take place in Abu Dhabi’s Zayed Sports City Stadium. At 2:30 pm, Real Madrid will play the winner of River Plate match. Saturday (22) will see the match for third place at 11:30 am and the final at 2:30 pm.
