São Paulo – The International Fair of Leather, Chemicals, Components and Accessories, Equipment and Machinery for Footwear and Tanneries (Fimec) will have an exhibitor from Egypt. The fair should take place from march 20th to 23rd, in the city of Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, and one of its stands will be that of Neolite Egypt, a maker of rubber resin and expanded sheets, which has already participated in other editions of the fair. There should be around 600 exhibitors from 20 countries.
The president at Fimec, Elivir Desiam, said that the fair is the second largest in inputs for the shoe sector in the world and for this reason is sought by foreign exhibitors. “The fair attracts companies that aim to enter the Brazilian and Latin American markets," said Desiam. Fimec this year should receive visitors from around 40 countries. Most come from Latin America. “We have identified great growth in Latin America,” said the president.
Neolite already sells to Brazil, according to figures disclosed on the company site. The company supplies the Egyptian market and also exports to countries in the Middle East, where it is the leader in the sector. The company was established in 1958, initially specialized in EVA sheets for sandals. The company then expanded its operation into PVC sheets and then, in 1996, acquired Spanish technology to produce rubber sheets.
The Egyptian company is going to exhibit alongside another 1,200 brands at the Fimec. The organizers hope for between 40,000 and 50,000 visitors. In the 40,000 square meter area, at the Fenac Exhibition Park, there will be not only the Arab Neolite and Brazilian companies, but also exhibitors from Germany, Argentina, China, Korea, Slovenia, Spain, the United States, Finland, France, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey and Uruguay.
The products shown at Fimec range from machinery for production of shoes, handbags and such, to raw material for leather, synthetic laminates, glues, soles and steel shoe tips, among others. Apart from the stands, there should be a conceptual factory, where shoes will be produced with equipment and inputs by 60 exhibitors. The focus of production will be sustainability and the shoes will be sold, with the funds generated being turned to social activities.
Fimec is promoted by Fenac, a company specialized in events, and by the Novo Hamburgo City Hall, with the support of the main organisations in the shoe and leather sector in Brazil. Apart from Fimec, Fenac promotes a great fair in the shoe area, the National Shoe Fair, in September, to release the sector summer collections.
