São Paulo – Brazil’s Flamengo and France’s PSG will face off on Wednesday (17) at 8:00 p.m. (local time) in the final of the 2025 FIFA Intercontinental Cup. The tournament, held in Qatar, has featured matches since September among the six continental champions. The final will be played in Al Rayyan.
In its first match of the tournament, dubbed the Americas Derby, the Rio de Janeiro side defeated Mexico’s Cruz Azul 2–0. In the following game, called the Challenger Cup and played last Saturday (13) against African champions Pyramids of Egypt, Flamengo secured another 2–0 victory.
Flamengo is competing in the tournament after winning the CONMEBOL Libertadores for the fourth time in late November, defeating Palmeiras 1–0. PSG, in turn, qualified by winning the UEFA Champions League for the first time, beating Inter Milan 5–0 in May.
