Brasília – The Central Bank of Brazil reported this Thursday that Brazil received USD 2.19 billion in foreign direct investment in June, down 68% from a year ago. The amount was below the current transaction deficit, which reached USD 2.91 billion in June.
Year-to-date through June, foreign direct investment reached USD 37.34 billion, up 10.4% from a year ago. In this case, the amount surpassed the current account deficit recorded from January to June, which stood at USD 10.55 billion, therefore it was enough to finance the deficit.
