São Paulo – Forest products ranked second in agribusiness exports from Brazil from January to May. Revenue came out to USD 5.75 billion, up 30.5% from a year ago.
The Brazilian Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply reported that the top-selling product category was soy beans oil and bran, with meats coming in third.
In terms of forest products, revenue from foreign sales of wood and wood items climbed 16.3% to USD 1.44 billion, with paper grossing USD 803.3 million. The item that fetched the most revenue was wood pulp at USD 3.51 billion.
