São Paulo – International coffee sales were down 12.4% year-on-year to 9.27 million 60-kg bags in May, the International Coffee Organization (ICO) reported this Monday (2).
According to the ICO, Arabica coffee sales dropped by 17%, while Robusta sales slid by 4.4%. May saw 5.6 million bags of Arabica and 3.6 million bags of Robusta coffee sold worldwide.
In the first eight months of the current crop, which began in October of last year, exports dropped by 0.5% to 79.9 million bags, with 50.16 million bags of Arabica and 29.79 million bags of Robusta exported.
