São Paulo – Businessman and former president of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC), Rubens Hannun will launch his book Brasil e mundo árabe: Negócios, marketing e diplomacia econômica ampliada [Brazil and the Arab world: Business, marketing and expanded economic diplomacy] next Thursday (26) in Lisbon, Portugal. The work is being presented to a Portuguese audience about a year after it was released to readers in Brazil, in February last year.
Hannun released the book through Grupo Novo Século with the aim of serving as a source of knowledge and inspiration for those who want to build relationships or do business with Arab countries. The work provides an overview of the region and its ties with Brazil, addressing key aspects of this connection such as the building of Brazil’s image in the Arab world and vice versa, diplomacy as a tool for relationship-building and negotiation, the Islamic market, among others.
President of the ABCC between 2017 and 2021, after previously holding other leadership positions at the institution, Hannun is now a member of its Advisory and Deliberative Council. He is also CEO of research institute H2R Insights & Trends, honorary consul of Tunisia in São Paulo, chairman of the Brazil–Tunisia Business Council, and vice president of the Brazilian Association of Research Companies.
In Portugal, the launch will take place during an event on the Arab world at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Law of the University of Lisbon. According to released information, the meeting will bring together institutional, diplomatic, business, and academic representatives for a qualified reflection on the future of relations between Portugal, Brazil, and the Arab world, with an exchange of experiences, ideas, and opportunities.
Grupo Facul is the organizer of the event and extended the invitation to Rubens Hannun to launch the book in Portugal. The University of Lisbon provided the venue and is offering cultural support. The event is also supported by H2R Insights & Trends, the Academic Association of the Lisbon Faculty of Law (AAFDL), and the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Distribution of the title in Portuguese bookstores is still pending confirmation, but copies will be available for sale at the event, and the book is available on global platforms such as Amazon.
