São Paulo – Gaining visibility on the foreign market, establishing partnerships and retaking potential contacts in the Middle East are among the main objectives behind the second participation of Hidroservice Group in building sector fair Big 5 Show, in Dubai, to take place from November 23rd to 26th. The group, which operates in the production of chemical products and in the development of projects for water reuse and other treatment, does not yet operate in the Arab world.
The Brazilian booth at the fair should cover 336 square metres and be organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce with the support of the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil). The Chamber expectation is to take 20 companies. Hidroservice group was one of the first to enrol for participation. "The last edition was very satisfactory for us. We made many contacts with the Middle East and managed to get clients in Angola and Venezuela," said the company export manager, Beatriz Gusmão.
According to her, the group’s budget turned to participation in international fairs this year was reduced to three events, and one is the Big 5. "It is a fair that grants good visibility," said Beatriz, who seeks partnerships in the Middle East for the development of projects.
Among the services supplied by the company are the chemical treatment of industrial water and swimming pools, projects for reuse of water, the monitoring of air quality and effluents. In the case of the Middle East, for example, Beatriz believes that projects for water reuse would be interesting. "They are countries that lack water," he added.
The manager still plans the opening of a trade office in Dubai. "I am very interested," she said, adding that she has already visited the Apex Business Centre in Dubai to evaluate possible future use.
Hidroservice group, which was established in 1978, is headquartered in Rio de Janeiro and has branches in several states in Brazil. The organisation currently exports its services to Angola, Venezuela and India. Little over a year ago, the company started being restructured to supply the foreign market better. For the Big 5 Show, the group is completing a new folder for presentation.
The fair
The Big 5 Show is the largest fair in the building sector in the Gulf. Last year, the fair received over 58,000 visitors and 2,833 exhibitors from 53 countries. From Brazil, 37 companies participated in the event.
According to information supplied by the Market Development Department at the Arab Brazilian Chamber, the value of civil construction projects in the Gulf this year is estimated at US$ 1.7 trillion. In the Emirates alone, investment should total US$ 549.86 million, according to figures supplied by Meed Projects. The projects include infrastructure and industry, gas and energy.
Brazilian companies interested in participating in the exhibition should get in contact with the Marketing department at the Arab Brazilian Chamber.
