São Paulo – The government of the United Arab Emirates has authorized commercial centers and restaurants to work at 60% capacity, which comes as a relief in the wake of restrictions in place over the past few weeks.
The authorization came from the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP) and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA).
Prevention measures are still in place: restaurants will be allowed to seat four people per table at most, and tables must be kept 2 meters apart, MoHaP and NCEMA said in a statement released on Thursday (25).
Waiting areas should remain closed and outlets must only serve food and drink using disposable cutlery, and hand sanitiser dispensers must be available. Wearing masks and gloves is a must while changing them regularly in addition to maintaining safety distance norms and ensuring all working staff are free of Covid-19.
Children under 12 and adults not older than 70 have already been allowed into all retail outlets and restaurants across the UAE – another welcome change, since children and adults over 60 had been banned in the last few weeks.
Dubai
Dubai’s Department of Economic Development announced that regular work hours will resume in all sectors of the economy, after the successful completion of the UAE’s National Disinfection Programme. Precautionary measures still in place include placing physical-distancing stickers, wearing masks and gloves, providing sterilization devices, and checking body temperature of people entering.
