Rio de Janeiro – The Brazilian industrial production ended April with a 0.6% growth over March. It’s the best result since April 2013, when there was an increase of 0.9%. However, the result for the first four months of the year is negative: 0.7%. The data is part of the Monthly Survey of Industry – Physical Production – Brazil (PIM-PF), which was made available this Friday (2) in Rio de Janeiro.
On the other hand, data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) indicate that when compared to April of 2016 (series non-adjusted seasonally), industry production declined 4.5%, the sharpest drop in this comparison since the -7.5% registered in October of last year.
