Brasília – The Survey of Manufacturing Industry measured by Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV) rose 0.5 point from November to December this year. With this outcome, its second consecutive rise, the index arrived at 94.8 points in a scale from zero to 200 points.
According to FGV surveyor Aloisio Campelo Jr., even with this rise, the confidence of businessmen from the industry sector remains below levels reached in the first semester of the year, showing a slow pace for activities during the turn of the year.
In December, confidence rose in 11 of the 19 industrial segments surveyed. The index of the current situation grew 1.8 point, arriving at 96 points. The index that measures the degree of satisfaction with the level of current demand rose 3.8 points to 97 points and the expectations index decreased 0.7 point to 93.8 points.
The employment indicator at the three following months decreased 2.8 points to 89.6 points and the index of trend in business decreased 0.7 point to 103.2 points. The level of capacity utilization decreased 0.6 point in December to 74.6 points.
