São Paulo – The Brazilian Bar Association’s (OAB) branch in Santos in the state of São Paulo will hold the Americas, Asia, and Oceania International Conference starting on Monday (19). Among the lectures are topics related to the Arab countries. The event runs until July 23.
It has the support of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) and is free of charge. The event’s language is Portuguese. Registration is open on the OAB Santos website. The sessions will also be broadcasted live on the OAB Santos pages on Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram.
On the first day of the conference, the president of the ABCC, ambassador Osmar Chohfi, will participate in the second session, starting at 1:30 pm BRT. Joining him will be the managing director of Emirates airlines in Brazil, Stephane Perard. The moderator will be Rogério Bassili José, deputy director of OAB Santos.
On the same day, the third session will address the theme “Getting to know the Arab consumer.” The lecturers will be the president of the ABCC’s women’s committee, WAHI (Women Who Inspire), and commercial director of H2R International Research, Alessandra Frisso.
The fourth session, to take place on Monday, will be “Arab Immigration: History, Legacy, and Influence.” In this debate, the master in Jewish and Arab Studies from the University of São Paulo (USP), Juliana Mouawad Khouri, will be alongside Silvia Alice Antibas, cultural director of the ABCC and “UNESCO-Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture 2019” winner.
