São Paulo – Three Iraqi importers will visit Automec, the auto parts, equipment and services trade show that begins this Tuesday (25) and runs until April 29 in São Paulo. They are coming at the invitation of exporting company Lipaco, which is headquartered in Beirut, Lebanon, and has an office in São João da Boa Vista, 219 km from São Paulo.
The Iraqis are interested in buying all types of auto parts of heavy-duty vehicles, according to information provided by Lipaco’s executive director Rosana Issa El Baba. The importers are Ali Sabr Salman, from Haj Ali Sabr Co., Ayad Janabi, from Ruaa Al Afaaq Co., and Aziz Kalf Abu Tothia, from Ruaa Al Afaaq Co.’s office in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Two of them already arrived in Brazil for the fair and the other one will arrive with the fair already underway. The importers will count on Lipaco’s guidance during the visit to the trade show to get to know the products of Brazilian companies of the sector, in addition to taking part in business matchmaking organized by the National Auto Parts Manufacturers Union (Sindipeças).
The company that invited the Iraqis, Lipaco, is owned by the Brazilian entrepreneur Walid El Baba and Lebanese Antoine Fadel. Baba worked in an auto parts company for many years and founded Lipaco two years ago. The exporting company’s business involves mainly Brazilian and Arab companies. It also exports to Uruguay and Argentina and imports raffia fabric from China.
But the auto parts business has been promising in the last few years and the company has been focusing on them. Lipaco has an agreement with 15 auto parts Brazilian companies and trades the products from these companies with Algeria, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, Syria, UAE, Lebanon, Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
When it brings Arab entrepreneurs to Brazil, Lipaco offers its support throughout the trip, from the arrival at the airport to the choice of hotel, translation of conversations from Portuguese into Arabic or other languages and selection and follow-up in deals. At Automec, in addition to the Iraqis, Lipaco also invited an importer from Peru.
According to Rosana, the Arab entrepreneurs that will visit Automec already bought from Brazil, but a small quantity. According to the executive director, they increasingly value the quality of Brazilian auto parts. “They buy a lot from China, but to supply the C and D income brackets. Brazilian auto parts are offered to a different group, which demand more quality and warranty.”
Lipaco deals with all types of auto parts, but the main demands are for turbo compressors, pistons, cylinder liners, rubber accessories and body parts.
