São Paulo – The Saudi embassy in the Brazilian capital Brasília disclosed today (23rd) that the date has been changed for the conference of the World Islamic League that will discuss the issue of dialogue between different religions and civilizations. The event will be held starting on June 4th in Mecca, in the Arab country, and no longer beginning on May 31st as previously scheduled.
The embassy informs, however, that those who have already made ticket reservations to go to the conference do not need to reschedule, as participants who arrive early will be received and hosted by the Saudi authorities.
The event should last three days and will bring together scientists, researchers and Professors from all Muslim countries, as well as representatives of Islamic communities in other nations, such as Brazil. Themes to be discussed will be dialogue between followers of different religions, among different civilisations, and the promotion of the values that they have in common.
The aim of the meeting, according to the diplomatic representation, is to prepare the Islamic world to enter this inter-religious and intercultural dialogue. The League is an organisation turned to the diffusion the Islam.
