São Paulo – Jordanian trading company The Integrated Marketing is participating in roundtables at the 29th Supermarket Business Congress and Fair, in São Paulo, seeking food, fresh fruit and concentrated juice. The company is one of the two Arab companies that came to the event promoted by the São Paulo State Supermarket Association (Apas) at the invitation of the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex). The other is from Saudi Arabia.
On Tuesday (7), the business manager at the Jordanian trading company, Mahmoud Ibrahim Odeh, met with Brazilian companies interested in exporting to the country and stated that they should do business. “Our company focuses on representing Brazilian products in Jordan and in the countries of the region. I am here seeking partners,” said Odeh, who is participating in the Apas for the seventh time.
The executive stated that The Integrated Marketing is interested in “all kinds of products”, but that the greatest demand is for fresh fruit and concentrated juice. Brazilian products imported by Odeh’s company should not be restricted to Jordan. The company distributes to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Algeria and Qatar.
To this edition of the fair, Apas and the Apex also brought the Saudi Fukur Family. The event’s business roundtables include 60 companies from 22 countries, among them Mexico, the United States, Canada and Panama. The representatives and companies are chosen at events abroad. In the case of the Arabs, the selection of potential buyers is at fairs like the Gulfood, promoted in Dubai, in the Emirates, every year.
Apart from Apas and Apex, associations in the food sector participated in the business roundtables. Among them are the Brazilian Fruit Institute (Ibraf), the Brazilian National Biscuit Industry Association (Anib), the Brazilian Cocoa and Confectionery Manufacturers Association (Abicab) and the Brazilian Coffee Industry Association (Abic). The organisation’s forecast is to receive 550 exhibitors and 70,000 visitors, and to generate R$ 5 billion (US$ 2.5 billion) in business during and after the event.
