São Paulo – Jordanian telecommunications operator Umniah by Beyon was honored for supporting women’s participation in the country’s labor market. The company received the 2025 Women’s Employment Award under the Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEPs) organized by UN Women.
According to Umniah by Beyon, the Umniah Ma’an Contact Center—an initiative to open new opportunities for women in provinces with limited employment options—was key to the achievement. The center prioritizes local female talent, creating jobs close to home.
In a statement, the company said the initiative reflects Umniah’s belief that empowering women across all provinces of Jordan is essential to building resilient communities and a more inclusive national economy.
Umniah has been a signatory to the UN Women’s Empowerment Principles since March 2021. The WEPs are a set of global principles developed by the UN Global Compact and UN Women to promote gender equality and the empowerment of women in the workplace and in society.
The award ceremony took place at the Sheraton Hotel in Amman, and Umniah’s Director of Human Resources and Corporate Affairs, Diana Saidi, accepted the award on behalf of the company. In her remarks, she said that the company’s approach in this area goes beyond employment figures. “Our focus is on building a work environment where women feel supported, respected, and able to grow,” she said.
