São Paulo – The book “Emílio Kallas – A história do fundador do Grupo Kallas, incorporada e construída por valores” [“Emílio Kallas – The story of the founder of Kallas Group, incorporated and built by values,” in free translation] will be launched this Wednesday (30) at the Monte Líbano Club, in São Paulo. The work features the biography of Kallas, a businessman of Lebanese descent, founder of the construction company that bears his family name, and responsible for real estate development in the city and state of São Paulo in the late 1980s.
The book was written in partnership with journalist and biographer Elias Awad. It recounts the life of the entrepreneur, from leaving his hometown, Passos, in the countryside of Minas Gerais, to attend elementary school in Franca, in São Paulo, passing through his undergraduate degree in Engineering, master’s, and Ph. D., as well as the beginning of his life as an entrepreneur, in a time of uncertainties in Brazil. The work depicts the vision of the company’s founder, such as when he decided to invest in the construction of estate projects in the region of Vila Leopoldina, today considered a prime area in the capital of São Paulo.
According to disclosed information, in four decades, the businessman and engineer saw the company he founded responsible for the construction of 12 million square meters, 150,000 units, and appearing in the top real estate ranking as one of the largest construction companies in the country. The book also reports on the succession in the company, when Raphael, son of Emílio, was appointed in 2022 as CEO of the group – Emílio is now Board chair.
The publisher of the work is Novo Século. The book’s launch will occur from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm BRT at the Monte Líbano Club for guests and press. The club is located at Avenida República do Líbano, 2267, Jardim Luzitania.
