São Paulo – Lebanon’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants is hosting, from this Thursday (21st) to Saturday (23rd) the event Lebanese Diaspora Energy 2015, in Beirut. The idea is to highlight the success of Lebanese expats throughout the world and encourage them to keep in touch with their homeland.
The first day in the event’s schedule includes sessions telling Lebanese expat success stories, presentation of projects by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs aimed at these communities, presentation of researches and data about expats and discussion about the role of diplomacy in the diaspora and in the economy.
The second day will be dedicated to sectorial meetings about 12 issues considered important in Lebanon and to the emigrants’ community: Medical Science, medicines and nursing; money, banks and insurance; contractors, engineering, construction industry and real estate development; agricultural products, Lebanese cuisine and franchises; media, advertising, music and cinema; arts, jewelry and fashion industry; education, publications, sciences and culture; industry and trade; oil and gas; telecommunications and computing; tourism, hotels, transport and services; politics, international and civil organizations; and the institutions of diaspora.
In the last day, there will be the inauguration of the Lebanese Diaspora Museum and of the new Lebanese Diaspora House. The attendees then will eat traditional dishes of the Arab country for lunch.
This year, the event will be held at the Hilton Beirut Habtoor Grand Hotel. The first edition took place May 30th to June 1st last year and gathered more than 500 attendees from several parts of the world.
