São Paulo – The Federation of Industries of the State of Mato Grosso, in state capital Cuiabá, will host the lecture “How to do Business with Arab Countries,” by Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce CEO Michel Alaby, on Friday, September 21, 2:30 pm. Alaby (pictured) will go over cultural aspects, business opportunities, Mato Grosso trade with Arab countries, and how the Chamber could help local business owners.
He will cover seven topics: “What are the Arab Countries,” “Brazilian-Arab Trade,” “Mato Grosso-Arab Trade”; “Business Opportunities: Mato Grosso for the Arab Countries; “Cultural Aspects in Business Meetings;” “The Arab Chamber,” and “How the Arab Chamber Can Assist Brazilian Companies in Doing Business with the Arab Markets.”
“We will discuss the potentialities of the Arab world, the characteristics of each economic bloc, negotiation tips, and the missions the Chamber will hold this year, to Algeria (October 27-30), Egypt (November 13-14 with Brazilian foreign minister Aloysio Nunes) and Qatar (December 5-6),” said Alaby.
The lecture will also feature the consul to the commercial office of the Embassy of Egypt to São Paulo, Mohamed Elkhatib, who will cover business opportunities with Egypt stemming from the Mercosur-Egypt free trade agreement.
“The event is geared at business owners in Mato Grosso who wish to begin selling to Arabs, and those who already do and are looking to sell more,” said Alaby. According to him, Mato Grosso boasts a very promising prospect outlook for exporting meat, soy, maize and other commodities to Arab countries.
Mato Grosso ran a USD 482 million surplus in trade with Arab countries through August this year. Mato Grosso sells mostly soy, maize and beef to Arab countries, and imports mostly fertilizers from those countries.
The lecture is free of charge and registrations are open. Send an email to priscila.silva@fiemt.com.br or call +55 65 3611-1655.
