São Paulo – Business owners from Minas Gerais that are interested in exporting to countries in the Middle East and North Africa will be able to attend this Thursday (26) morning the event “Business with the Arab World,” a partnership between the Commercial and Entrepreneurial Association of Minas (ACMinas) and the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce. Registrations, free of charge, are open at the association’s headquarters in Belo Horizonte.
The event will begin at 8:30 am with a presentation by Emir Cadar, honorary consul of Syria in Belo Horizonte, about the Arab presence and the Syrian community in the capital of Minas Gerais. Later, the CEO of the Arab Chamber, Michel Alaby, will speak about the business culture in the Arab countries.
Lastly, business owner from Minas Gerais that already export to the region’s countries will talk with the audience: Ricardo Abreu, from Rima Business, will talk about his experience in Qatar; João Emediato, from Estúdio Lampejo, will cover business fairs in Dubai; and Paulo Márcios, from Eloah Comércio Exterior, will tell his experience with Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
According to Alaby, there are over 50 registrations to the event. “Minas Gerais exports a lot of coffee, poultry and ore to the Arab countries, plus food products in general,” said the CEO of the Arab Chamber. “But the lecture is open to entrepreneurs from all sectors that want to enter this market,” he says.
According to the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services, Minas Gerais exported USD 1.369 billion to Arab countries from January to September. In the first nine months of last year, the amount stood at USD 1.044 billion.
