Rio de Janeiro – The National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) approved, this Thursday (20), measures to encourage onshore and shallow-water oil production. The measures were based on the findings of an ANP work group that determined the assessment of the level of investments needed to mitigated the current situation of a decline of production of these types of operation.
Four measures were approved, among them the renewal of contracts of onshore and shallow-water contracts that the agency consider of its interest. Another norm determines that, in the cases in which there’s no interest by the agency in the renewal or approval of contracts, administrative measures should be taken for the investments to be made or for the devolution of the areas.
