São Paulo – A prospecting mission for Brazilian businesses in Morocco, Egypt and Algeria is set to happen in April. Additional information will be provided on Wednesday (15) during a breakfast for Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce member companies in São Paulo. Registration for the trip will be open until February 17.
The mission is being arranged by the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil) anmd by the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Apex-Brasil international business analyst Márcio Guerra will be the speaker during the breakfast at the Arab Chamber offices.
Additionally, Arab Chamber CEO will deliver a lecture on Arab economies, president Rubens Hannun will disclose the organization’s calendar, and former Bradesco economist-in-chief Octavio de Barros will give an overview of the world economy.
According to Apex-Brasil, the North Africa tour plan originated when the embassy of Brazil in Morocco called out for Brazilian companies to participate in the International Agriculture Show in Morocco (Siam), and from plans of having missions to Algeria and to Egypt. Apex-Brasil notes that Algeria and Egypt are populous countries – with consumer markets amounting to 40 million and 94 million, respectively.
The mission is multi-industry: companies in any field can join, including machinery and equipment, food and beverages, décor and construction, pharmaceuticals, etc. However, the exposition in Morocco from April 18 to 20 is for the agribusiness industry. There will be a stand for Brazilian companies to showcase their goods in.
The delegation will be in Egypt on the 22nd and 23rd, and in Algeria on the 25th and 26th. Actions will include business matchmaking and prospecting actions, including technical visits. The goal of Apex-Brasil is to take 15 Brazilian companies to each of the countries. Companies can choose to only go to one of the countries.
Apex-Brasil notes that the mission is the result of its increasing synergy with the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which it has become affiliated with during the current administration. The Arab Chamber is a partner for the mission. Chamber member companies looking to join are advised to register for the breakfast event on the 15th.
