São Paulo – Over the next few days, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce secretary general, Michel Alaby, is going to promote a tour of lectures and seminars to discuss business between Brazil and the Arab world. He will be at club Esporte Clube Sírio, in the city of São Paulo, on Saturday (15th), in Curitiba, in the state of Paraná, on Monday, and in Florianópolis, in the state of Santa Catarina, on Tuesday.
The focus, however, will not be exactly the same in all of the meetings. On Saturday, the theme will be “Brazil-Syria Economic Relations – Trade and Tourism.” The lecture will be geared at club members and guests.
In Curitiba, Alaby is going to respond to an invitation made by the local board of the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) to show businessmen in the state “How to do business with the Arab countries”. The Chamber secretary general has already given this lecture in different locations throughout Brazil, by request of companies and sector organisations.
On Tuesday, he will be at the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina (Fiesc) to attend the launch of a trade mission to Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, due November.
It has become a tradition for the Fiesc to organize a mission to the Gulf at this time of the year so that it coincides with the Big 5 Show, the region’s main building sector fair, held annually in Dubai. The trip is geared mainly at suppliers of building material, engineering and architecture firms, and construction companies.
Although the trip is organized by the Fiesc, companies from all over Brazil may participate, as the action is promoted by the National Confederation of Industries (CNI) under the responsibility of the Santa Catarina-based federation.
According to Juarez Lauth Gualberto, of the Fiesc International Business Centre, companies interested in attending the seminar should contact the federation of industries in their state, because the event is going to be broadcasted by videoconference to all of the Business Centres in the CNI network.
The secretary general is going to talk about the Gulf construction market, with an emphasis on the industry’s expansion in Saudi Arabia and in Abu Dhabi, in the United Arab Emirates. Alaby is also going to discuss the Big 5, in which the Arab Brazilian Chamber is going to be in charge of the Brazilian stand, and Saudi Build, an exhibition scheduled for October in Riyadh.
According to Juarez, the Fiesc is designing a specific website for enrolment in the mission per se. The organisation expects to bring along 70 businessmen from across Brazil.
