São Paulo – The second edition of the Middle East Fashion Week (MEFW) will return to Dubai from November 7 to 10 at The Agenda, in the Dubai Media City (DMC) district. The event is organized by the Middle East Fashion Council (MEFC). The first edition took place in March this year. (Pictured above, dresses by Italian designer Barbara Rizzi).
Designer submissions for the MEFW are open until October 10. To apply, please email pr@middleeastfashionweek.org.
The event will also host the second edition of the Middle East Sustainable Fashion Forum, a panel of speakers discussing how to integrate sustainable practices into the design process and fashion supply chain in an environmentally responsible and financially viable way.
The choice of location in The Agenda was made with sustainability in mind. It is the world’s first carbon-negative venue. “The sound and lighting industry has historically been energy intensive and, along with air conditioning and facilities, traditionally there would have been a sizeable CO2 footprint from an event like this. The Agenda will use state-of-the-art technology to reduce energy consumption.
