São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) will present next Wednesday (25), at 8:00 am BRT (11:00 am UTC), its 4.0 Space, with projects aimed at taking Brazil’s relations with the Arab countries into the technological era. The Brazilian minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI), astronaut Marcos Pontes (pictured above), will participate in the launching event, which will be live-streamed over the internet and is open for registration. There will be simultaneous translation into Portuguese and English.
At the webinar, the ABCC will present the ABCC Lab, a laboratory built to connect innovation agents in Brazil and the Arab countries, as well as the Ellos Platform, which will streamline and digitalize the procedures and trade contacts between Brazilians and Arabs, and the Innovation Committee, a panel with companies from both regions discussing relevant topics related to innovation.
“Innovation and technology are increasing in demand and are urgently needed to boost economic development and competitiveness in countries. And when we talk about Brazil and the Arab countries, there are a lot of complementarities,” says the Institutional Relations manager of the ABCC, Fernanda Baltazar, noting the institution is now entering the 4.0 era, and the projects will bring cost reductions to exporters, as well as gains of competitiveness.
Marcos Pontes will speak at the event about the importance of innovation for competitiveness. The Brazilian Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation will participate in Expo 2020 Dubai, holding the Space Week in the Brazil pavilion from October 16 to 23. The Ministry will partner with the ABCC for this participation and other activities during the world’s fair.
