São Paulo – A group with 20 local businessmen from Paraíba State was introduced to the excellence program implemented by the Dubai’s government at the end of April and wants to apply this learning in their state and business. They participated in a fair in China and later went through the United Arab Emirates, where the excellence program’s general coordinator, Ahmed Al Nuseirat, welcomed them and told about how the project is executed.
“We were able to check out the whole program, which is improving the quality of life and work in Dubai’s society”, said the president of the Federation of Commerce of the State of Paraíba (Fecomércio-PB), Marconi Medeiros, who was part of the delegation. The mission was organized by Fecomércio-PB.
“Everything must be done with excellence and dedication”, said Medeiros. According to him, Dubai’s program has as its goal to bring high quality to all sectors linked to the government, such as health, education, airlines, besides companies in general and the workforce of the Emirate.
“It means that things can be done with quality and in the best way, in government and companies”, he says about what the Brazilian businessmen learned. In the case of companies, for instance, one of the initiatives of the plan is staff training.
According to Fecomércio-PB’s president, besides receiving information about Dubai, the group had the opportunity to tell Nuseirat about Brazil. The businessmen visited the cities of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. “Indeed, the excellence program works”, said Medeiros about Dubai, adding, however, that the group was really impressed with Abu Dhabi.
The fair visited by the mission in China was the Canton Fair. They didn’t exhibit products in the fair, which is multi-sectorial, but attended as visitors and sought out business contacts in the Asian country. The trip was from April 9th to 23th and they spent the last three days in the United Arab Emirates. The mission had the support of the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service (Sebrae) from Paraíba and Federation of Industries of Paraíba State (Fiep). Also supporting the group was the Superintendence for the Development of the Northeast (Sudene).
