São Paulo – The countries of the Middle East are among the markets that may aid masculine shoe producer Freeway to increase foreign sales, currently responsible for 10% of revenues. The brand already exports to Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Oman and is betting on greater sales to the region in 2011.
"The Arab countries still have small participation in total exports, but have enormous growth potential. We hope new contacts take place during Couromoda next year," said export manager André Ferreira. The next edition of Couromoda should take place in São Paulo in January. According to him, it is participation in fairs like Couromoda, Micam. In Italy, and GDS, in Germany, that guarantees contact with importers from all parts of the world.
In the Freeway industrial unit, in Franca, in the interior of São Paulo, and at the Jacobina branch, in Bahia, daily production totals 7,500 pairs of shoes. Together, the factories generate 600 direct jobs.
According to Ferreira, with each new collection the team of brand designers research the most recent tendencies in style and concept, working with the best of fashion in colours, material and finishing. "Since 1989, Freeway has been prominent in the market and we are already one of the main Brazilian companies in the male shoe sector," said the manager.
According to him, all this care makes Freeway a great brand on the national and international scenery, exporting to over 25 countries. Today, the main clients are the countries of South America and Central America. "Distribution logistics is through a supply network with global coverage," he pointed out.
