São Paulo – A group of 16 civil construction professionals will visit Brazil from this Monday (17) onward. Representatives for design offices, steel pipe manufacturers, diverse works, transportation, hotel construction and safety services will visit the 20th edition of civil construction fair Feicon Batimat during this week. They will also take part in a seminar at the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and some members of the group will go to Rio de Janeiro.
According to the Arab Brazilian Chamber International Business executive Fernanda Baltazar, the Moroccans will visit the fair to learn more about the products the Brazilian construction sector has to offer, but also to present their portfolio. “They want to promote purchases and sales”, she said.
The entrepreneurs’ trip is organized by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Morocco and it is another trade promotion activity the Arab country performs in Brazil.
In January, a group of journalists from Brazil went to Morocco invited by the Investment Promotion Agency (AMDI) to learn about business opportunities in the North African countries. Last December airline Royal Air Maroc resumed flights to Brazil, with direct flights between São Paulo and Casablanca. In April and May this year, the Arab Chamber should hold a forum with Brazilian entrepreneurs on the business opportunities in Morocco.
“Moroccan government is promoting actions to strengthen trade with Brazil. We are the third main business partner of Morocco, behind France and Spain, but trade is focused on Brazilian exports of sugar and Moroccan exports of fertilisers. The countries, as well as the Arab Chamber, wish to expand the variety of products involved in the balance of trade”, said Baltazar.
Before visiting Feicon Batimat, which starts this Tuesday (18) and ends on Saturday (22), the Moroccans will pay a visit to the Arab Brazilian Chamber. The organization will offer a seminar on the Brazilian constructions business, and, in particular, the performance and projects of this business sector in the state of São Paulo, by the request of the visitors.
The Arab Brazilian Chamber CEO, Michel Alaby, said Morocco is showing a “very effective approach” to Brazil. “We have an agreement with the Moroccan Investment Promotion Agency. They are trying to attract investment, which shows there are growing business opportunities with them,” said Alaby.
