São Paulo – The Moroccan team has qualified for the round of 16 of the Men’s World Cup for the first time since 1986, 36 years ago.
Four Arab teams played in the group stage of the World Cup. Host Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and Tunisia ended their participation in this stage.
In a historic feat by the team led by coach Walid Regragui, the North African Arab team went undefeated, clinching first place in Group F. Morocco drew 0-0 with Croatia and beat Belgium 2-0 and Canada 2-1.
In the round of 16, the Moroccans will face Spain next Tuesday (6) at 6:00 pm AST (12:00 pm BRT).
Croatia will face Japan on Monday (5) at 6:00 pm AST (12:00 pm BRT). Belgium and Canada, from the same group, were eliminated.
