São Paulo – The First International Trade and Industry Forum, Maroc Forum 2004, to take place between June 14 and 29, 2004, in the city of Tangier is going to present products from the most varied sectors of the economy, with the objective of developing national and international partnerships.
According to the economic counsellor of the Moroccan embassy in Brasília, El Khalfi Najib, the city of Tangier is the most important free zone in Morocco, and the bridge connecting Africa to the European continent.
According to Najib, social-economic development in the Tangier region has registered a considerable impulse in recent years. "Multiplication of free zones and industries, plus fiscal privileges are the ideal scenery for establishment and publicity of a large variety of economic and technical sectors," informed the counsellor.
Among the great advantages of Tangier region, according to him, are the modern and diverse means of water, air, and land transport. "Thus investors have all guarantees for establishment, development, and success of their companies in the African country."
The meeting will take place in an area of approximately 40,000 square metres, divided in stands, exhibition and demonstration rooms, as well as a conference room.
Najib states that Maroc Forum will make it possible for social-economical agents and political leaders to meet and discuss partnerships in sectors including agriculture, food, furniture and decoration, jewellery and cosmetic jewellery, clothes and textile material, construction, cosmetics, aesthetics and perfumes, electronics, electricity, renewable energy, the auto industry, information technology for offices, fishing, the sanitary sector, security services for banks and associations, sports, telecommunications, tourism, hotel management, restaurants, and transport.
To Najib, the specific choice of sectors included in the form, plus the technical and industrial park in the country, especially in the North, is going to offer real opportunities to the various exhibitors.

Najib explained that in Brazil administrators of organizations and businessmen were sent invitations to participate in Maroc Forum 2004 through the four Moroccan consulates in the country – in the southeaster capitals of São Paulo (São Paulo state), Belo Horizonte (Minas Gerais state) and Vitória (Espírito Santo state), and in Florianópolis, capital of the southern state of Santa Catarina.
According to the counsellor, businessmen interested in further information about the forum should get in contact with the consulate in their state or with the Moroccan Embassy in Brasília as soon as possible.
