Rabat – Morocco saw 11.3 million foreign visitors from January to November 2018, up 8.5% from Jan-Nov 2017. Foreign tourist numbers climbed 15%, with trips by Moroccans living elsewhere going up 2%, news outlet Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP) quoted the country’s Tourism Observatory as reporting.
When it comes to Morocco’s usual tourist sources, visitor numbers were up 15% from Italy, 10% from Germany, 8% from France and 6% from Spain.
Marrakech and Agadir were the most sought destinations, having accounted for 60% of hotel stays from Jan-Nov. The number of hotel nights was up 10% in Fez (pictured), 10% in Rabat and 10% in Tangier.
