São Paulo – Between January and June this year, 30,132 Brazilians visited Morocco, representing a 14% increase compared to the 26,545 who traveled to the North African country during the same period last year, according to data from the Moroccan National Tourist Office (ONMT, by its French acronym). In June alone, 4,180 Brazilians traveled to Morocco, up 5% from June 2025.
Brazil ranks as Morocco’s 20th-largest source market for international tourism in a list led by France, followed by Spain, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Italy, Germany, the Netherlands, and the United States. Overall, Morocco welcomed 9.3 million tourists in the first six months of the year, a 6% increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Data from the ONMT’s regional office for Brazil also show that the main gateway for Brazilian tourists to Morocco is Casablanca Airport, which receives direct flights operated by Royal Air Maroc. A significant number of Brazilian travelers also arrive via the city of Marrakech on flights operated by European airlines.
Morocco has been investing in attracting tourists from Brazil, a market regarded as having strong growth potential beyond the country’s traditional European source markets. Moroccan flag carrier Royal Air Maroc is expanding the frequency of its flights to Brazil after resuming operations between Casablanca and São Paulo’s Guarulhos International Airport in 2024. Later this year, the airline will operate five weekly flights to São Paulo, and in 2027 it is also expected to launch flights between Casablanca and Rio de Janeiro.
