São Paulo – The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Morocco, an Arab country in North Africa, is expected to grow 6.2% in real terms this year, according to a projection updated by Bank Al-Maghrib, the Moroccan central bank, this week. The percentage means an upward revision of 0.9% relative to the previous estimate made in June this year.
The information was released by Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP), the official Moroccan news agency. According to the local Central Bank, the improvement reflects the 18% increase in agricultural value-added and a 4.6% increase in production in other sectors.
The bank informed Morocco’s economic upturn is expected to continue, boosted by notable advances in the vaccination campaign against COVID-19, the country’s great agricultural harvest and fiscal stimulus, and the accommodative stance of the Moroccan monetary policy.
