Rio de Janeiro – Brazilian oil output reached 2.731 million bpd in May, surpassing the previous record of December 2016 (2.73 million). Figures were released this Tuesday (2) by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). The result was up 4.9% over April and 4.7% over a year ago.
According to ANP, another record hit last May was the national natural gas output, which reached 118 million cubic meters per day. The previous record was of October 2018 (117 million). With these results, total oil and natural gas output reached 3.473 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (measure used in conjunction with oil and gas).
