Rio de Janeiro – Oil production in Brazil dropped by 2.2% in January 2019 compared to last December and increased by 0.6% compared to January of last year. The production reached 2.631 million barrels per day, according to data released this Thursday (7) by the Brazilian National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP, acronym in Portuguese).
The main reason for the decrease over December were the shutdowns for maintenance at platforms P-74 (photo) in Búzios and FPSO Cidade de São Paulo in Sapinhoá, both at Santos Baisin, on pre-salt areas.
The natural gas production in January, reached 113 million m3 per day, down by 0.4% compared to the previous month and up by 0.7% compared to January 2018.
