São Paulo – In Brazil, 2.358 million barrels of oil were produced daily in November 2014, up 13.3% from November 2013, according to data released this Tuesday (6th) by the National Petroleum Agency (ANP, in the Portuguese acronym). In November from October 2014, however, output was down 1.5%.
The same holds true of natural gas: production reached 91.7 million cubic metres, up 16% from November 2013, but dropped by 1.1% in November from October 2014.
According to ANP, the lower output in November from October was largely due to the fact that maintenance at rigs brought production to a halt. In all, 2.935 million barrels of oil equivalent were produced per day (boed) in November.
Production at the pre-salt area averaged at 602,300 barrels of oil per day, and 20.9 million cubic metres of natural gas per day. Total oil and gas output at the pre-salt layer stood at 733,600 boed in November, down 0.8% from October.
