São Paulo – Olsen, a maker of medical and dentistry products, signed a new contract with an importer from Saudi Arabia. Medical Office for Medical Equipments (MOFME), from Jeddah, bought two dentistry sets, which are already in production and should be shipped on the 20th of this month. As informed by ANBA last week, the company aims to increase its presence on the Arab market.
This is the seventh sale that the company from Palhoça, in Santa Catarina, makes to a Saudi importer. The first contact with MOFME was in 2003, during the Medica Düsseldorf fair, in Germany. “From there came the first requests for information, price quotes and, after some time, the first orders,” explained Márlya Câmara, the trader at Olsen.
According Márlya, Olsen sells to ten importers from Saudi Arabia. To MOFME, the company has already sold around 20 pieces of equipment. She also explains that, apart from the dentistry sets, the Arab importer usually expand orders with optional items.
“Olsen participation in the Saudi Market is still very small, and over the years we have been seeking a greater volume. Success in negotiations is gradual, and it is necessary to have patience to await results,” said the trader.
Olsen turns 10% of its exports to the Arab countries. Annual revenues are 9.6 million euros, of which 2.02 million are the result of exports.
