São Paulo – Tunisia and Egypt are the two Arab countries that have won medals so far in the 2024’s Olympic Games being held in France. Tunisia is the highest placed Arab nation with one silver medal won at 8:30pm on Monday (29) in Paris. Prior to that, Egypt had won a bronze medal.
Fares Ferjani captured the silver medal in the men’s saber individual for Tunisia. Egypt’s Mohamed Elsayed snagged a bronze medal in the men’s epee individual event. Tunisia is ranking 18th, and Egypt 25th.
Olympics’ medal table
According to the table made public by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), 33 countries have won medals so far. Japan ranks first, followed by China in second and South Korea in third. Brazil ranks 16th.
