São Paulo – The Omani government is preparing an event focused on sustainability. The Oman Sustainability Week will occur in Muscat, the capital city of the Gulf country, from March 13 to 17.
The event seeks to highlight the nation’s commitment to leading-edge sustainability through innovative strategies aligned with the United Nations (UN) Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It also aims to unite entrepreneurs and institutions to present Oman as a new role model of sustainable development.
The event’s target audience is state decision-makers, sustainability experts, and industry heads. The content schedule also follows Oman’s Vision 2040 strategic plan, which seeks to elevate the sultanate to the position of advanced nations.

Currently, Oman’s economy and development are still heavily dependent on oil and gas resources, which account for 68% to 85% of state revenue. Therefore, the leading role of the energy sector in contributing to future sustainability and diversity of the economy will be one of the main highlights of the Oman Sustainability Week.
