São Paulo – The online course ‘Arábia: A Saga dos Filhos do Deserto’ [‘Arábia: The Saga of the Sons of the Desert’] will discuss the desert region between the Gulf, the Red Sea, and the Mediterranean, from the Incense Route to the oil tycoons. Starting on April 12, the four live classes in Portuguese will occur every Wednesday at 5:00 pm BRT on Zoom and will stay recorded. The lecturer will be historian Plínio Freire Gomes, and registration is open.
The first class, on April 12, will have the theme ‘The Oasis, the Desert, and the Caravan.’ “‘Arabs’ are the others” will be the subject of the second class on April 19. On April 26, the third class will be about ‘Islam, the revolution on the outskirts of the world.’ The fourth and final class, From Caravans to Pipelines, will be on May 3.
