São Paulo – The Embassy of Palestine in Brazil received the visit of a delegation from the state of Rio Grande do Sul this Thursday (2) in Brasília. Ambassador Ibrahim Alzeben and other ambassadors from Arab countries welcomed the Rio Grande do Sul mission, which included mayors and representatives of entities and the state government.
In 2022, Rio Grande do Sul exported USD 1.68 billion in goods to the Arab countries and imported USD 2 billion from them. The state’s major trading partners in the region were Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Morocco, Algeria, and Qatar. The main products exported to the Arabs were poultry, wheat, tobacco, cellulose, and maize. The state mainly imports fertilizers and oil from the Arab nations.
Among the public representatives were the mayor of Farroupilha, Fabiano Feltrin; the mayor of Nova Prata, Alcione Grazziotin; the mayor of Caxias do Sul, Adiló Didomenico; the mayor of Flores da Cunha, Cesar Ulian; the mayor of Arroio do Sal, Afonso Flavio Angst; the deputy mayor of Vacaria, Marcelo Dondé, and the advisor for International Relations of the Rio Grande do Sul State Government Office, Robson Cardoch Valdez.
Also participating were the dean of the University of Caxias do Sul (UCS), Gelson Rech; the president of the Mobilization for Caxias do Sul Association *(Mobicaxias), Rodrigo Postiglione; the vice-president of the Union of Metallurgical, Mechanical and Electrical Industries of Caxias do Sul and director of Marcopolo, Ruben Bisi; the director of the Brazil-China Chamber of Industry and Commerce (Bracham), Lourdes Printes; the president of the Association of Small Businesses of Rio Grande do Sul, Pedro Steffens; the director of the Internet Services and Information Providers Association (Internetsul), Fabiano Vergani; and the executive director of Mobicaxias, Rogério Rodrigues.
