Rio de Janeiro – Petrobras lowered investments forecasted for the period 2015-2019 in 37%, which means US$ 90.3 billion less if compared to what was previously forecasted in the Business and Management Plan for 2014-2018. The company’s new plan for 2015-2019 was sent this Monday (29th) to the Securities Commission (CVM, in the Portuguese acronym) with a total investment of US$ 130.3 billion for the period.
In the new plan, the investment portfolio will prioritize projects of oil exploration and production in Brazil, with emphasis placed in the pre-salt layer. According to the company, in the other business areas “investments are basically intended “for the maintenance of operations and projects related to the shipping out of oil and natural gas production”. It will be 86% to production development, 11% to exploration and 3% to operational support. Also, US$ 64.4 billion will be intended to new production systems in Brazil, 91% of which in the pre-salt layer.
