Rio de Janeiro – Petrobras started this Wednesday (20) to produce oil and natural gas in the platform P-76 (floating unit of production, storage, and oil and natural gas transference) in Búzios field, in Santos Basin pre-salt. It is the third platform of the company to start processing in the area.
The unit has the daily capacity to process 150,000 oil barrels and compress up to 6 million cubic meters of natural gas and is the second platform to start operating this year, out of the four projected to start production by 2019, according to the Petrobras’ Strategic Plan.
P-76 is located approximately 180 kilometers from the coast of Rio de Janeiro state, at a water depth of 2,030 meters. The Búzios field, in Santos Basin pre-salt, was discovered in 2010 and started producing in April 2018.
