Rio de Janeiro – Petrobras and BG Group are going to establish a joint venture to develop an engineering product turned to the construction of an on-board gas liquefaction unit on maritime platforms.
The plant is one of the technological alternatives under study by Petrobras to transfer the gas produced in the pre-salt layers in Santos Basin – of difficult transportation to refining and distribution centres due to the distance from the shore.
The signing of the agreement establishing the company should take place this afternoon (17th) at the Petrobras offices, in Rio de Janeiro, and should include the presence of the Gas and Energy Director at Petrobras, Graça Silva Foster, and of BG Group Brazil president Nelson Silva.
