São Paulo – Brazilian plastic manufacturing companies will participate later this week in B2Bs with importers from the Middle East. The virtual meetings started on Monday (7) and run until Thursday (10), held by Think Plastic Brazil, an internationalization program fostered by Brazilian Plastic Institute (INP) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (APEX-Brasil).
The action with the Middle East is supported by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC). Over the four days, 25 daily meetings are expected to take place between Brazilian houseware companies and 20 international buyers. Called Trade Mission to the Middle East, the initiative will also include a trip of the Brazilian group in May 2021 to the Index Dubai interior decoration trade show and more B2Bs.
According to a press release, the Middle East is a market that Think Plastic has studied since 2018, and some plastic companies have operated in the region since actions were carried out in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. But the market is still unexplored by several companies of the project, according to Carlos Moreira, the head of Strategy and Planning at Think Plastic Brazil.
The program was created in December 2003 and focus on promoting exports and the internationalization of Brazilian plastic products for agribusiness, toys, civil construction, packages, and houseware. The toy sector is worked in partnership with the Brazilian Association of Toy Manufacturers (ABRINQ).
