São Paulo – Plasútil, a manufacturer of plastic household utensils headquartered in the city of Bauru, in the interior of the state of São Paulo, exports to approximately 30 different countries – among them Saudi Arabia, Lebanon and Sudan. Presently, exports answer to 15% of production by the company, which is developing a sales expansion plan for countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
“To ensure contacts with new clients, we have participated in important sector fairs, such as the Gift Fair, in Brazil; Ambiente, in Germany, Home & Housewares, in Chicago, and Variety, in Las Vegas,” says foreign trade assistant Pollyana Silva Castro.
According to Pollyana, the company started exporting in 1986, first to Cuba and then to Argentina. Currently, the main importing countries of the company’s products are Argentina, Venezuela, Paraguay and Cuba, respectively.
With over 600 items, Plasútil leads the Brazilian market of plastic household utensils in table, kitchen, cleaning, bathroom, organisation, baby, office, gardening, and pet lines.
According to the assistant, the enterprise leads the segment “because it has always sought excellence in its products, invests in technology and professional training, and values and respects consumers,” she says. “Plasútil has operated in the plastic household utensils market for 23 years now, and with regard to the domestic market, it is already present in the entire country,” she adds.
Plasútil was founded in 1986 and currently has approximately 800 employees. The company was the first in Latin America to obtain the ISO 9001 and 2000 certificate and one of the brand’s differentials is investment in design. “Design is the trademark of the brand, which counts on a team of specialized professionals so as to offer the best solutions in household utensils,” says Pollyana.
Protection
Plasútil is one of the Brazilian companies that invest in the Microban antibacterial technology. When incorporated into products such as cutting boards and refractory items for children during manufacturing, the technology makes them more hygienic and safe, because the surfaces coated by means of the process inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi, micro-organisms that cause stains, bad odours, and food contamination. Furthermore, antibacterial protection also makes household utensils easier to clean and adds value to the products.
