São Paulo – Company Pman, a maker of inputs for bakeries, is going to take its first steps to enter the foreign market. Company director Paulo Roberto Cavalcante is one of the participants on the trade mission that the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex) are going to promote to North Africa late this month.
"We do not yet export. We started prospecting markets early this year and selected some targets. One of them is Africa," stated Cavalcante. During the mission, the delegation is going to visit Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt. Apart from African countries, the director has as a target winning markets in Latin America and Asia.
According to Cavalcante, one of the objectives behind participation in the mission is finding local representatives or distributors. "This trip will be a first contact. We are going to present our products and will later send samples," he said. According to the director, participating in a delegation with the support of the two organizations will make it easier than travelling alone. "It makes us feel safer," he finished off.
Pman, which has been on the market for 11 years, produces various lines of inputs for bakeries, like anti-mould, grain alcohol, malt extract, enzymes, products to help remove pastries from moulds, baking trays and equipment. "I believe that we have sufficient capacity to compete internationally. We have the price and the quality," stated Cavalcante.
According to him, the products made by Pman are applied in over 32 million different breads per month. The company produces between 5,000 and 7,000 litres of concentrated anti-mould per month. According to Cavalcante, with each whiff, approximately 5 to 8 ml of the diluted product is used. The company target for this year is to start exporting and, for this reason, Cavalcante guarantees that Pman has a capacity to increase its production volume and supply the foreign demand. "We currently have 60% of our capacity stopped," he said.
According to Cavalcante, the company, which has 35 employees in its three installations in the interior of the state of São Paulo, is determined to become an export company. "We know that exporting is a long term game. We are taking our first steps," he said.
