São Paulo – The ports in Brazil were responsible for shipping 81% of Brazilian exports to the international market last year, according to information from the communications advisory at the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
Of the US$ 118 billion sold by the country to the external market in 2005, US$ 96 billion went by sea. The remaining US$ 8.1 billion in products were sent by land and US$ 7.6 billion by air. The Santos Port was the one through which passed most goods to the international market in 2005.
