Ports in Brazil break throughput record
In the first ten months of the year, the Port of Santos, the largest port in Brazil, located in the southeastern state of São Paulo, had a throughput of 57.5 million tonnes, a growth of 15.3% when compared to the same period in 2003. In the case of Paranaguá port, in the southern state of Paraná, throughput was 30 million tonnes. In the northeastern state of Pernambuco, cargo loaded and offloaded rose 12%.
